Franchise collections completed across the content ecosystem, with a redesigned APP UI and limited-time free access

Franchise collections provide a higher-level form of content organization than categories and tags, working across the entire content ecosystem. For films, Avengers 1, Avengers 2 and Avengers 3 belong to the Avengers franchise. For episodic series, Love, Death & Robots season one and season two belong to the same franchise. For comics, Cat's Eye volume one and volume two belong to the Cat's Eye franchise. For audio, Daily Reading and Daily Report belong to the Daily collection.

The order of content within a franchise can be edited. When viewing an item in the APP, the page displays all content in its franchise so users can choose another item.

For example, playing Avengers 1 in the video APP displays Avengers 1, 2 and 3 below the player. Viewing Cat's Eye volume one in the comics APP displays volume two and volume three.

The feature took 15 hours of intensive work. It works well in the APP and can help maximize revenue when paired with limited-time free access.

Example: Add Avengers 1, Avengers 2, Avengers 3, Avengers 4 and Avengers 5 to the Avengers franchise, then make Avengers 1 free for a limited time. When users play Avengers 1 in the APP, the playback page prominently displays the Avengers franchise and all its videos.

Here, I added zombie films to a Zombie franchise. Playing one displays the other films as shown. After watching the limited-time free film, users are encouraged to purchase VIP access to watch the remaining films.

Changelog

  • One: Completed franchise collections, a higher-level organization method distinct from categories and tags, spanning the entire content ecosystem.
  • Two: Redesigned the APP UI and added support for the latest franchise and limited-time free features.
