Built-in system-level file manager with transcoding queues, archive previews and extraction; resolution-adaptive watermark and scrolling-text removal
Many users already use our RSS subscriptions for automatic downloading, categorization, publishing and operation. However, some downloads are archives containing videos, which cannot be added automatically to transcoding. For this workflow, I decided to build a simple system-level folder manager from scratch. It needed to navigate to any server folder, delete files through an optionally enabled setting, add videos from any folder to the transcoding queue, preview file lists inside zip or rar archives without extraction, and extract zip or rar archives online. I spent 1 day implementing it and integrated it into the efvcms administration interface.
Changelog
- One: Added system-level folder management. Navigate to any folder, add its videos to the transcoding queue, delete files when enabled in configuration to avoid misuse, view
zipandrararchive contents online, and extractrarandzipfiles online. - Two: Added global
ASSeffect subtitles for animated text watermarks and scrolling text. They work alongside image watermarks, scrolling text, text watermarks, moving image watermarks, flashing text and animatedgifwatermarks. Add your own effect subtitles to burn them into videos during transcoding. An exampleASSscript is provided below for testing. - Three: Rewrote import logic to process any number of server-side videos, posters and subtitles reliably. Matching image filenames are also processed into posters
1and2. - Four: Watermark and scrolling-text removal now adapts to resolution. For videos transcoded to
360P,480P,720Pand other resolutions with correspondingly scaled watermark positions and sizes, removal can automatically match the resolution. In most cases, just one portrait and one landscape removal template are needed. - Five: Added duplicate series and video-title detection. During simple editing, detailed editing and series creation, the entered title is checked in real time and matching titles are reported.
Added at 9 PM on March 6, 2022: Administrators can restrict the accessible root directory in folder management. For example, setting it to the EFVCMS source directory permits access only to that directory and its subdirectories.
