New separate CMS with youtube layout and app-like PWA experience; paypal payments, paginated orders and video sorting

I spent 20 days building a new separate CMS, available as an alternative to the original separate CMS. It follows the classic youtube layout and can be installed on a phone's home screen, where Android recognizes it as a quick app because sapper is inherently a pwa application. This separate cms took time because all its API endpoints were rewritten, along with many corresponding API endpoints in EFVCMS. It also supports comics, including category and tag aggregation. Its backend server was replaced with expressjs, improving stability and speed.

Important: Do not update to this release if you use old APP source with gallery functionality. Gallery and comics api endpoints underwent breaking changes. Old APP users should wait for the new APP release.

Preview: A new APP is in development. I spent another 1 month studying flutter and am rewriting it with asynchronous loading and an MVC architecture that separates models, views and controllers. Even many large companies do not use this approach, and its difficulty is considerably higher.

What is PWA? See https://web.dev/progressive-web-apps/.

Updates

  • One: Added a separate cms as an alternative to the original separate cms, using the classic youtube layout. All separate cms api endpoints are rewritten. Replaced polka with an expressjs backend, improved mobile experience, and added full PWA support for home-screen installation on all phones, recognized as a quick app.
  • Two: The separate CMS reproduces APP-style presentation. In installed and mobile-browser modes, the experience resembles a native APP. Playback and comics pages are optimized for mobile. The comics reader uses Intersection Observer API lazy loading to reduce memory usage and data consumption.
  • Three: Added paypal payments. Configure your paypal client ID and secret in administration, and this youtube separate cms can use paypal directly. See the demo.
  • Four: Administration order management now has pagination, and video management supports sorting combined with category and status filters. Four orders are available: newest first, oldest first, highest play count first and lowest play count first.
