Control-center architecture: an IDC-grade commercial cloud SAAS service

The control center is being designed and developed. Here is a preview of its four architectural modules: application layer, distributed CDN layer, distributed cloud-storage layer and distributed transcoding layer.

It targets IDC operators, large online-video services, online education and other large-scale users. The design seamlessly supports cloud-native distributed storage, distributed CDN caching and distributed transcoding, all with unlimited scaling.

Architecture diagram

Features

  • One: Install cloud transcoding SAAS on node servers in one action from administration.
  • Two: Install cloud storage on storage-node servers in one action.
  • Three: Install CDN caching on CDN nodes in one action.
  • Four: Workflow transcoding intelligently schedules idle nodes. For example, a template might use screenshot -> transcode -> screenshot -> animation -> preview video. Transcoding has its own subworkflow: multiple resolutions (240P, 720P, 1080P) -> watermark removal -> image watermark -> scrolling text -> text watermark -> intro. The entire workflow is customizable.
  • Five: Distributed cloud storage automatically allocates servers with free space.
  • Six: Distributed CDN caching automatically distributes caches for popular data.
  • Seven: Visual management for every module: total and used storage; CDN bandwidth, peak bandwidth and capacity usage; each transcoding node's CPU usage and processing status.
  • Eight: Pluggable application layers can be combined as needed. Use our cloud drive for uploads, sharing, permissions and paid VIP groups; our CMS for sharing, point rewards, withdrawals, VIP groups and pay-per-view; or SAAS cloud services for uploads, custom transcoding parameters, watermarks, scrolling text, watermark removal, multiple resolutions and workflows. Charge by transcoded minutes or operations, and offer storage, CDN and other cloud services. All applications can also be used together.
