2020-6-8 update: CMS language switching, better recommendations, redis memory caching, and the dedicated APP nearing completion

Since mid-May 2020, I have been building the dedicated Advanced APP and writing dozens of API endpoints. This API set supports any APP or frontend development and will be released later. Meanwhile, we added M3U8 play statistics and redis memory caching, and refined recommendations. Marking a video as recommended uses its generated animation as a poster and retrieves its dimensions, making certain recommendations in the APP and CMS more visually striking. The major update is multilingual switching in the CMS of EFV Advanced, translating all frontend details and prompts for convenient switching.

Updates

  • One: Completed CMS language switching, currently supporting Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English.
  • Two: Added a redis caching wrapper around mongodb queries, making reads nearly 3 times faster. Developers can use it simply by adding .cache() after a mongodb read call.
  • Three: Fixed a direct-purchase BUG and an incorrect point-purchase BUG in the CMS.
  • Four: Added direct m3u8 statistics, recommended for third-party playback. Every third-party play of the m3u8 increments its count. Disable it for the built-in CMS, since the built-in CMS has its own statistics.
  • Five: Recommended videos use animated posters with retrieved width and height for masonry layouts. Certain APP and CMS covers therefore display animations.
  • Six: The manually written flutter APP is nearing completion, with masonry layouts throughout. Background-download support is the remaining work.
