2020-04-06 integrated architecture: transcoding, CMS, IOS/Android, WINDOWS, MACOS and LINUX clients completed

I have long wanted express-ffmpeg-vip to offer clients on every platform. Recent technical progress let me release a universal APP, aiming to cover WEB, mobile and desktop. Over the past month, I studied electron, where electron builds cross-platform desktop applications from one codebase for linux, mac and windows. The first desktop version integrated with Advanced is now complete.

Features

  • One: Fully integrates with express-ffmpeg-vip, or EFV. Many API endpoints were rewritten into API2, one API specification shared by APP, desktop and web. Anyone can use this API to build their own applications.
  • Two: Supports categories, popular content, Try Your Luck, articles, feed ads, galleries/comics and search, with more features to come.
  • Three: Simple configuration and one command build desktop installers for WINDOWS, linux and macos, ready for distribution.
  • Four: Installed desktop applications improve retention without requiring users to remember domains or worry about blocking and browser interception.

Author's comment

EFV has evolved into a full-platform application: beyond web and mobile, it now includes windows, linux and macos for Apple computers.
