EFV CHANGELOG

Change log

Document every improvement and stay up to date on EFV’s latest advancements.

  1. Rewrote advanced resumable uploads. If a page closes during upload, reopen and select the same file to resume intelligently. If the network disconnects, retry every 2 seconds and continue once connected, supporting unattended upload of hundreds of videos.
  2. Added priority transcoding: select videos at any time and place them in the priority queue for processing first.
  3. Series add intelligent one-action episode addition, adding thousands of episodes in 1 second. Demonstration.
  4. Changed Douban metadata retrieval for third-party m3u8 additions, improving one-action metadata/poster retrieval stability.
  1. Removed category-specific scrolling text; all scrolling text now uses the global configuration.
  2. Added batch trimming of video endings.
  1. Improved preview-video generation stability. Invalid videos are skipped to prevent the process from getting stuck.
  2. Added watermark error handling to make it easier to find the underlying problem when watermark files have been deleted accidentally.
  3. Updated the publishing system for Apple CMS: the time recorded when a video is published to Apple cms now uses the actual publication time rather than the upload time. Added more publication-information fields.
  1. Rewrote the entire transcoding workflow. The previous logic was disorganized and unnecessarily complex. Screenshot capture, segmentation, instant segmentation, animated-image generation, preview-image generation, preview-video generation, transcoding, source-video deletion or retention, and source-video uploads to cloud storage have all been reorganized. Overall transcoding stability has doubled; tests with 5000 consecutive automatically transcoded videos completed without interruptions or similar problems.
  2. Optimized several api endpoints and related functionality.
  1. Added filters for the error and failed transcoding states and refined filtering behavior.
  2. Forced line wrapping for irregular English names in the cms interface (for example, Revenge_of_the_Fallen).
  1. Fixed series posters not appearing by default in the public site's popular section when a series was added.
  2. Fixed inconsistent poster dimensions in the popular section. It now uses cover 1, with its width and height configured in the transcoding settings.
  3. Deleting a series video in video management now also removes it from that series, reducing the likelihood of series errors.
  4. Fixed errors when adding a video to a series if its ID was incorrect or otherwise absent from the video library.
  5. Increased the number of tags shown on the public site from 150 to 500. This setting can be customized.
  6. Users who only use transcoding do not need to install this update.
  1. Fixed queued transcoding not supporting automatic instant segmentation.
  2. Restored the old m3u8 download logic as an option. Users can freely choose between the 2 old and new m3u8 download implementations.
  1. Fixed remote transcoding calls through the Fluent API.
  2. Fixed mp4 being unavailable for selection in the download center.
  3. Added an m3u8 download option that bypasses User-Agent checks, which can reduce the likelihood of downloads being blocked.
  4. Improved screenshot capture when removing watermarks or scrolling text. Screenshots are now taken after transcoding, so unwanted watermarks and scrolling text no longer appear in the images.
  5. Added launch-screen image advertisements to the bundled APP. They can be configured in the administration panel, and clicking an image can open any URL.
  1. Integrated Tencent Cloud live streaming, with seamless switching between the built-in streaming server and Tencent Cloud's live service.
  2. Fixed empty Douban information when adding series.
  3. Added batch download-link submission and rewrote the m3u8 download logic to support more m3u8 link types. Downloading segments before merging them greatly improves speed.
  4. Added a custom plugin for encrypted m3u8 downloads, with frame-by-frame decryption after downloading. Direct downloads also support more video formats, including mp4, avi and rmvb.
  5. Fixed the remote transcoding logic.
  6. Extended apigetcontent to return additional video information, including descriptions, year, tags, categories, Douban ratings and other details.
  7. Added beecms, an independent open-source cms system. See beecms; it can be used with the advanced edition of efv.
  8. Added several saas endpoints.
  9. Fixed known bug issues, including scheduled publishing tasks.
  1. Added scheduled publishing. A specific category and N videos can be scheduled independently, suitable for publishing a limited number of videos each day. This can be used with the automatic publishing system for third-party CMS platforms.
  1. Replaced the frequently failing Douban video-information api with a new api that retrieves detailed Chinese and English video information and automatically obtains posters.
  2. Added moving watermarks: a pure-function implementation makes an image watermark bounce around the full screen. Start time, interval and duration can be configured.
  3. Fixed the bug where series posters were missing in the cms popular section.
  4. Fixed a BUG that could occasionally stop transcoding when segmentation was disabled and only mp4 output was retained.
  5. Optimized parts of the code to improve stability.

Added real-time system monitoring with live updates for CPU, memory, disks, bandwidth and other information.

Added an operator system with tiered administrative permissions. Combined with the custom open-source desktop application for operators, it supports detailed division of work and collaboration. Read more.

  1. (Further improvements are planned) Added an anti-hotlinking key. Once configured, playback is only allowed through both the specified player and the specified domain. If these 2 requirements are not both met, playback cannot proceed by any means. Read more.
  2. Fixed watermark issues for portrait videos in both GPU and CPU transcoding.
  1. Combined scrolling-text and watermark management in a custom WYSIWYG editor. Any number of watermarks and scrolling-text overlays can be placed at any position and during any time range. View the demonstration.
  2. A powerful one-click retranscoding function is coming soon (currently under testing). It does not require retaining the source video: it intelligently removes watermarks and then adds watermarks or scrolling text again. The access path stays unchanged, so third-party applications using m3u8 need no changes.
  3. Added a user licensing system. Users can change their licensed IP in the license-management panel. Contact us to transfer to the new licensing system. The old system remains available only for previous software versions.
  1. Added targeted distribution. Selected videos can load segments from Qiniu Cloud, Alibaba Cloud OSS, storage servers and other sources. N servers with good connectivity can each serve N videos, ensuring playback speed and providing an alternative to expensive CDN and cloud-storage services.
  2. Fixed a registration-page BUG and a username-validation BUG in the administration panel.
  3. Fixed other known minor BUG issues.
