EFV CHANGELOG

Change log

Document every improvement and stay up to date on EFV’s latest advancements.

  1. Added a comments table, commenting in the advanced CMS, and administrative comment review.
  2. Added user editing, including username, email, password resets, vip group and VIP expiration date.
  3. Redesigned publication. After transcoding, videos enter an intermediate state and only appear on the public site when Formal Publish is clicked.
  1. Added a highly modern responsive template.
  2. Improved design and user experience.
  3. Added a new template using the latest BOOTSTARP4 framework.
  4. Updated and optimized a large amount of code. The homepage is now fully cached in memory.
  1. Added many API endpoints for APP integration.
  2. Added one-click video-poster generation.
  3. Fixed and improved many known issues and rewrote substantial frontend logic.
  4. Extended m3u8 retrieval with more detailed content, including animated images, screenshots and mp4 URLs.
  5. Added concurrent multi-video transcoding. Administrators can configure how many videos transcode simultaneously to fully use CPU capacity.
  1. Added multi-bitrate previews and rewrote all m3u8 retrieval and m3u8 processing logic to fully support previews with distribution settings.
  2. These are actual restricted previews, rather than player-side simulations: the same m3u8 returns different content according to the user's status.
  3. Fully supported previews in the advanced multi-bitrate edition. When previews are enabled, unsigned-in users can watch only one minute at any resolution. Registered users can watch the full video at resolutions permitted by their group; resolutions without sufficient group permission remain limited to a one-minute preview. For example, after making m3u8 links available for third-party collection, enabling previews in the panel turns all external m3u8 references into one-minute previews.
  4. Previews fully support distribution settings, including cdn. Requests for static m3u8 files are intercepted and handled entirely by application code instead of the static directory, so the same m3u8 returns different content according to the user's status.
  5. Once previews are enabled, the system provides anti-hotlinking protection comparable to Youku and iQIYI, but only with the bundled cms. The source describes previews as permanently preventing unauthorized linking.
  6. Integrated the official Alipay interface for directly purchasing points with Alipay. More payment interfaces may be added later.
  7. Added order management for Alipay top-up orders.
  8. Improved frontend notifications for mobile devices and added preview reminders.
  9. Added apipost. Technical users can use apipost directly on the server to import video paths, directors, actors and other data. Even without opening the administration panel, videos can be automatically transcoded and segmented with complete metadata.
  10. Fixed film and series poster uploads.
  11. Fixed several minor bug issues.
  1. Added scrolling-text background-color settings.
  2. Users can configure the background color and width.
  3. Fixed several bug issues, including user groups not being configurable for 640P.
  1. Added many local updates and transcoding functions, including burning ass subtitles. Users can now burn ass subtitles. Scrolling text gains settings for outlines, outline size and text color.
  2. Optimized m3u8 paths for managing and storing segments. The new format is Example URL — year-month/day/objectid/random 6-character value/index.m3u8. This change required a comprehensive frontend rewrite while retaining compatibility with old paths, so existing addresses remain supported.
  3. Added poster generation to the series module. After upgrading, click Generate Poster in that module because m3u8 paths have changed.
  4. Added ass subtitle burning. Many videos use ass effects subtitles. In addition to the existing srt support, the new ass support prioritizes matching ass files in the movies folder. If both srt and ass subtitles exist for the same video, ass subtitles are burned in directly.
  5. Added custom transcoding configurations for selected videos or a single video, accommodating different requirements for each video.
  6. Added text color, outline color and outline-size settings for scrolling advertisements. Combined with font files, scrolling text can be fully styled.
  1. Added separate image-watermark burning at individual positions, a substantial refactor.
  2. Removed the old watermark configuration and redesigned it so each position can use a different image watermark.
  3. Watermarks adapt intelligently to video dimensions, giving them consistent apparent sizes across transcoded videos.
  4. Watermark management can configure four images at four positions. Images may be identical or different; leaving a position unset adds no watermark there.
  5. Reserved positions for text watermarks in the administration panel, with text-watermark support expected later.
  1. Added a new 640P resolution option.
  2. Added 640P to retained mp4 output options.
  3. Fixed several BUG issues, such as errors when deleting after marking content as recommended.
  4. Added customizable bitrates for each resolution.
  1. Changed mp4 retention to multiple MP4 selections, allowing users to retain mp4 outputs at several transcoded resolutions.
  2. Added an option to enable or disable segmentation for users who do not require it.
  1. Added distribution settings for multiple servers and domains.
  2. Added many API configurations for cloud-drive integrations.
  3. According to the configured distribution settings, ts URLs in m3u8 are randomly assigned distribution domains.
  4. Synchronizing segments across servers or using reverse proxies enables load balancing. Alternatively, distributing through a CDN domain can address bandwidth and load limitations.
  1. Added user uploads and points rewards for uploads.
  2. Added three-layer upload security filtering and an administrative review button.
  3. Users can see their uploaded videos.
  4. Added MD5 checks for uploads. If a video already exists, users are notified that someone has uploaded it already. (This avoids duplicate uploads.)
  1. Added multi-bitrate srt subtitle burning. Upload a video and a matching srt file via ftp to movies. After importing, clicking Transcode automatically burns the srt subtitles into every bitrate output.
  2. Added galleries to the advanced edition, suitable for comics and similar content.
  3. Optimized template parameters and defaults so CMS settings take effect.
  1. Added an episode release schedule to CMS, automatically processed from the recurrence settings entered for series in the administration panel.
  2. Added image previews to CMS; the final image is the generated animation.
  1. Added many updates, with roughly dozens of optimizations.
  2. Comprehensively improved CMS presentation.
  3. There were too many optimizations to remember them all.
  1. Updated paid vip group creation, separating it from ordinary user groups. Users purchase vip groups with points.
  2. Integrated vouchers with the advanced CMS. Points top-up vouchers can be generated, and the resulting points can purchase VIP groups.
  3. Added paid vip options for access duration in days, the corresponding vip group and required points. Users can activate VIP groups themselves with points on the public site.
